Many of us like to take rice as a main dish for our daily food.  We want to know the basic way cook rice in a slow cooker perfectly. But it is not so easy task. Because maximum time we don’t know the process of cooking in a slow cooker. Without having the knowledge of cooking in slow cooker, you might struggle to get perfect boiled rice to eat without best cooker.

So it is important to know what is the best way of cooking rice in a slow cooker. Brown rice can take longer to cook than the white rice. You can cook rice in variety of ways. Here, I will show you some interesting ideas to spice up your cooking and get more flavors out of your rice cooking. I would like to give you the tips of the following ways.

Basic rice cooking:-

Ingredients:

  • 4 Cups of pure water
  • 2 cups brown or white rice
  • 1/2 tea spoon salt
  • 1 table spoon butter or oil

At first wash the rice for several times. Take a slow cooker or rice cooker and coat the whole cooker with 1 table spoon of butter or oil. Now take 4 cups of pure water in the slow cooker to heat the water properly. When the water steams, mix  2 cup of brown or white rice. If you want, you can add half tea spoon of salt. Now it’s time to cover the cooker. Set the thermal point and time of the cooker. At first set it in high volume of heat.

Then it stein slow volume of heat gradually. As you know the brown rice take long time to cook properly. So you have to cook the brown rice about for an hour and white rice for half an hour. Stir the rice gently for several times of the cooking.

After the mentioned time, you can check the rice that is cooked or not. If it is not ready yet, then keep it in the cooker about 10 to 15 minutes more.

Now you have to check again. If the rice is firm and not looked mash,you can think your rice is well- cooked.

Point to note, if you pour access water or overheat while cooking; the rice will be mashed or burnt.

How to cook rice with chicken in a slow cooker :

Take these ingredients to prepare the chicken rice:-

Vegetable oil spray

  • 3 table spoon oil or unsalted butter
  • 1 can low sodium cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cup uncooked quick cooking white rice
  • 1/2 table spoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 can dry onion soup
  • 4 cup water
  • 1 can celery soup
  • 5 or 6 piece of boneless , skinless chcken breasts paprica

Preparation:

Take the slow cooker and spray the vegetable oil from side to bottom of the cooker. Place the water, garlic powder and unsalted butter in the cooker.Mix it properly. Now keep the mixture in medium heat as well. After half an hour check the mixture and add the white rice and the soup. Mix the soup with the rice. keep in mind that mixture should completely coat the rice. After that keep the chicken breasts piece over the rice. Place the dry onion soup, low sodium cream mushroom soup and celery soup over the chicken breasts.

Then cover the cooker. Set the heat in low volume.

 cook the meal at least for 1 hour. When the time is over, open the cover and stir the rice gently and spread the paprica for garnishing. Cook it in low volume of heat for extra 20 to 30 minutes. If you See the rice is not cooked well or the rice is still dry, you can add some hot water and cover the slow cooker again. Then check the rice again. Now you can get your desired meal perfectly.

Vegetable rice:

Ingredients;-

2 carrots

  • 4 potatoes
  • 4 beans
  • ½ cup of green pulse
  • 2 capsicum
  • 4 piece green chillies
  • ½ cup of oil or butter
  • 2 cups of white rice
  • ½ tea spoon of salt
  • 6 piece prone or shrimp
  • ½ cup onion powder
  • 1 table spoon garlic pest
  • 1 table spoon ginger pest

Preparation:

Set a well cleaned slow cooker and coat the cooker with oil spray. At first pour the oil and mix the vegetable pieces, shrimp and rice with it. Add the garlic pest, ginger pest, and salt and onion powder. Then mix the above mentioned items and stir well. Add the water and cover it up to a time interval. After 2o minutes check the rice and stir well again and again. Now cover the slow cooker and keep it for extra 40 minutes in low volume of heat.

After the time has passed the rice and your vegetable rice is ready to serve.

Final words

The usefulness of a slow cooker is to cook any meal or rice properly. You need not use any extra saucepan.You can cook your meal in the slow cooker comfortably. But you have to the knowledge of the right measurement of the ingredients.

It has an extra benefit to keep the rice warm after cooking for 1 or 2 hours. So it is clear to us that a slow  cooker is more beneficial  than any other cooker.
